Hydro Ottawa

Hydro Ottawa needed to bring awareness to go-getting DIY-ers about the very real (and unfortunately common) hazards of at-home projects gone wrong. We felt that a dark topic such as this needed a nice juxtaposition of lightheartedness, in order to stray from a daunting scare-tactic-based approach. We created an electrical safety campaign that spoke to their primary audience of adult males in a playful way, using simple, flat graphics that reimagined their current cartoon-character laden version. Our research led us to create the “Shocking Fails” campaign that resonated with men and retained their attention from start to finish with a slightly comedic approach.
